Unlike an acoustic set, the electronic drumset has the advantage of being
quite quiet. Of course there are many differences between the acoustic
and the electronic drumset. Both of them have their pros and cons. You
may choose the one that fits best for your needs.
My drumset from PINTECH (CS/1 - 9 Pieces):
I must be honest. I still love acoustic sets! What can I say? They don't
miss notes and even though they have just a single way of sounding for
each drum, its unique sound certainly is something strange to describe.
I just don't know how to explain this.
I'm gonna try to squeeze this thought into a single phrase:
Acoustic drumsets sound real.
Obviously, that doesn't mean I don't like electronic drums! That's wrong!
I also love them! You see, I live in an apartment, so it'd be almostto prtice every single day, and that's what I'm doing quite often!
Thank to those quiet pads I am truly able to practice all day long. Of
course I don't do that! Only one hour per day...one and a half, at most.
But damn, it's good!
One thing is for sure. Those pads feel nice! No doubt about that. The cymbal
pad could have a better feeling, but that's not a problem.
Now, the only thing that disapointed me is the bass drum trigger and the
hihat pedal.
The iverted kind bass drum trigger doesn't really seem to work well. It's
too light and that makes the group (pedal+trigger) roam around the floor.
Luckly, recently, I found a rectangular piece of rubber that fits perfectly
under both of the pedals.
The hihat pedal isn't completely guilty on this thing. The module (DM5)
only plays open/close sounds for the hihat. The problem concerning the
hihat pedal is that it just doesn't feel like a real hihat equipment. If
I could switch to a Roland pedal (FD7), it probably would work things out.
Many drum modules around the stores are capable of playing all sounds of
a real hihat. Roland modules can do so. The new DM-PRO from Alesis, modules
from Yamaha and DDrums are also able of playing it.
I must clear things up about this "missing note" thing.
It only happens when I'm playing quite fast. That means: when I play a
beat or ordinary rolls nothing happens. The module gets everything. In
most cases, the "missing note" thing happens on buzz rolls (UNFORTUNATELY).
